With Clarity is our stronger recommendation for an engagement ring. Its Home Preview service helped us choose a design, and the real ring we bought was beautifully finished. Clean Origin still has useful strengths, but its later price, image and service findings make us more cautious.
Our comparison gave both jewelers a very high rating. We have kept the diamond searches and shopping observations that helped us reach that view, while bringing the recommendation into line with our more recent purchases and reviews.

Quick comparison of Clean Origin vs. With Clarity
| What matters | Clean Origin | With Clarity |
|---|---|---|
| Our review rating | ★ 3.7/5 | ★ 4.5/5 |
| Best for | A particular jewelry design, nearby store or longer eligible return window | Designing an engagement ring and trying the setting at home |
| Our purchase | Petite tennis bracelet, good presentation and a simple return | Two Home Preview replicas, followed by a well-made 1.11-carat ring |
| Main drawback | Later loose-diamond price and sample-image concerns | Higher loose-diamond prices; Home Preview payment becomes store credit |
| Diamond range | Lab-grown and natural diamonds | Lab-grown and natural diamonds |
| Eligible return window | 60 days from readiness for delivery or pickup | 30 days from receipt |
For the lowest loose-diamond price, we would also compare Ritani. Neither jeweler matched its benchmark in our September 2026 review checks.
Introduction to Clean Origin
Clean Origin began in 2017 with a focus on lab-grown diamonds. It now sells natural diamonds too, alongside engagement rings, wedding bands, earrings, necklaces and bracelets.

We bought a petite lab-grown diamond tennis bracelet during our review. The packaging was discreet, the cream-colored presentation box was well made, and returning the bracelet was straightforward.
That experience remains a positive part of our assessment. Our Clean Origin review also explains why we no longer give it five stars: less consistent help from support, a higher loose-diamond price than Ritani and a checked listing that used a generic sample image.
Introduction to With Clarity
With Clarity began as Four Mine in New York and built its reputation around engagement rings. Ring design is still its strongest attraction, although the collection now includes plenty of finished jewelry too.

We have used Home Preview and bought a real ring: a 1.11-carat round lab-grown diamond in a 14K yellow-gold Chevron Hidden Halo setting. The complete order arrived in 11 days. We liked the neat prongs, even hidden halo, smooth polish and weighted blue presentation box.
You can see the ring and our photographs in the With Clarity review. This is the main reason we are more confident recommending its ring-building experience today.
Clean Origin vs. With Clarity: lab-grown diamond selection
Our reference search used a round lab-grown diamond weighing 0.93–1.07 carats, with I–J color, VS1–VS2 clarity and the highest qualifying cut label, generally IGI Ideal.
I–J diamonds can show some warmth; VS1–VS2 describes small internal features usually assessed under magnification. Those grades gave us a useful starting point, not a rule that every buyer should choose the same specifications. With today's lower lab-diamond prices, it is worth comparing higher color grades too.
Clean Origin diamond quality and inventory
The search recorded about 30,000 loose lab-grown diamonds and 13 matches for our reference grades. Several looked promising, although we wanted a wider shortlist.

For a purchase now, the important question is whether you can inspect the actual stone. The 2.01-carat listing checked for our September review had report information and a rotating-image control, but its gallery was labelled Sample Image. A grading report is useful; a generic picture cannot show whether you like that particular diamond.
With Clarity diamond quality and inventory
With Clarity had more than 59,000 loose lab diamonds in the search, including 29 reference matches. The broader choice was useful.

Our September 2026 review found a much larger selection: the default premium lab-grown search returned 140,694 matches. That default started at 1.5 carats and favored high grades, so it used different filters from the one-carat reference search.
The ring builder lets you choose the center diamond and setting. We still prefer that control for an important stone, but preset jewelry is not automatically poor quality. For earrings or a pendant, compare the stated grades, dimensions, setting and actual appearance instead of assuming the ring builder tells you everything about the rest of the range.
Clean Origin vs. With Clarity: price comparison
Here are the prices from our reference searches. They explain the value assessment behind our recommendation.
| Reference search | Qualifying results | Recorded price range |
|---|---|---|
| Clean Origin | 13 | $800–$1,170 |
| With Clarity | 29 | $925–$2,352 |
Clean Origin diamond prices
Clean Origin was the lower-priced choice in that comparison. We also recorded a half-carat-total-weight solitaire pendant at $695, compared with $1,100 at With Clarity. The pendant specifications were not identical, so the price alone did not establish which was the better piece.
Our later review found a different picture on loose-diamond value. On September 1, 2026, a Clean Origin 2.01-carat round E-color, VVS2-clarity, IGI-graded diamond was $694 during a sale, versus a $422 median for five 1.95-carat Ritani results with matching color, clarity and grading lab.
Those were close, not identical stones. Even so, the difference supports our more cautious assessment of Clean Origin's value.
With Clarity diamond prices
With Clarity's reference prices were higher in the research, and its recent loose-diamond price was also well above Ritani's benchmark. The near-two-carat stone in our September review was $1,063 during a 25%-off sale.
The Clean Origin and With Clarity examples had different specifications. Compare the center stone carefully, then include the setting and useful services in your decision. Our two-carat price guide provides current examples.
We think With Clarity can justify paying more when its design and preview service solve a real problem for you. We would not pay that premium simply for a higher clarity grade that makes no visible difference.
Clean Origin vs. With Clarity: shopping experience
The Clean Origin shopping experience
Our early research found a simple website, useful diamond information and friendly help. Our bracelet order and return were uncomplicated too.
Later interactions were less consistently helpful. Before buying, ask specific questions about the exact stone, the delivery estimate and what happens if the ring needs resizing. If the listing uses a sample picture, request real images or choose another diamond.
Clean Origin has physical stores and virtual appointments. A nearby location can be useful, but convenience should sit alongside a good price and enough information to judge the jewelry.
The With Clarity shopping experience
Home Preview is what makes With Clarity different. Trying a replica on your hand can answer questions that photographs cannot: whether a setting sits too high, whether the shape suits your finger and how the ring looks next to a wedding band.
We ordered two replicas before choosing the real ring. They helped us judge the setting and proportions; a simulant in a replica does not demonstrate the final diamond's sparkle.
Home Preview is no longer a free, no-commitment trial. The current charge is $200 per replica. After returning it within seven days, you receive gift credit for the amount paid, rather than a cash refund. It makes most sense when With Clarity is already a serious contender.
Our real ring arrived in 11 days from ordering, not two days. Shipping speed and the time needed to make the ring are different things. The workmanship was the highlight: the finished design looked as we expected from the preview, with careful details and a polished finish.

Clean Origin vs. With Clarity: sustainability
Clean Origin sustainability
Clean Origin says 96% of its gold is recycled and describes support for One Tree Planted. Its catalog now also includes natural diamonds, so choose the diamond type and sourcing information deliberately.
With Clarity sustainability
With Clarity publishes sourcing commitments for its natural diamonds and also sells lab-grown stones. Neither a conflict-free claim nor lab-grown origin alone establishes a diamond's complete environmental impact.
If this is important to you, ask about the grower, electricity source and metal used in the specific piece. We would like more product-level detail from both sellers before choosing between them on environmental grounds alone.
Clean Origin vs. With Clarity: shipping and returns
Both offer insured shipping. With Clarity's published coverage includes the US, Canada and UK; its Home Preview service is US-only.
Clean Origin allows eligible returns within 60 days from readiness for delivery or pickup, with the item back by day 60. Resized or exchanged orders are final sale, and custom orders receive store credit.
With Clarity's eligible return window is 30 days from receipt. Items submitted for resizing are excluded, and repeated purchases or returns can trigger fees or store-credit restrictions. Settle whether you want to keep the ring before requesting a resize.
For an expensive ring, also check the warranty separately from the return policy. With Clarity's lifetime warranty does not cover the center diamond or diamonds above 0.10 carat.
Clean Origin vs. With Clarity: pros and cons
What we like about Clean Origin
- Good presentation and a straightforward return in our bracelet purchase.
- A broad jewelry range, ring builder and physical stores.
- A longer eligible return window than many online competitors.
What we don't like about Clean Origin
- Its sampled loose diamond cost more than Ritani's benchmark.
- The checked listing used a generic picture.
- Support has been less consistently useful than in our early experience.
What we like about With Clarity
- Our ring was carefully finished and arrived in 11 days.
- Home Preview helped us choose the setting.
- Extensive diamond choice and a useful engagement-ring builder.
- Online appointments and a SoHo showroom.
What we don't like about With Clarity
- Loose-diamond prices can be much higher than lower-priced specialists.
- Home Preview payments become gift credit.
- Return and warranty exclusions deserve attention before resizing or ordering several pieces.
Our verdict: Clean Origin vs. With Clarity
For an engagement ring, we would choose With Clarity over Clean Origin. Its design tools and the finish of our own ring give us more confidence. Home Preview is useful if you expect to buy there and understand the credit arrangement.
Clean Origin may still have the specific piece you want, and our bracelet experience was positive. We no longer recommend it as the automatic cheapest choice, however. Compare the diamond and the complete jewelry price before committing.
Is Clean Origin better than With Clarity?
Not in our current assessment. We rate With Clarity 4.5/5 and Clean Origin 3.7/5. With Clarity is our preferred engagement-ring option; Clean Origin's longer eligible return window and local stores may suit some buyers. For loose-diamond value, compare Ritani with both.
