Who is LabGrownCarats?
LabGrownCarats is operated by Rockstar Marketing Pte. Ltd. (UEN 202609787W), trading as Raspberry Penguins, a company registered in Singapore.
Klaus Thorup founded LabGrownCarats in 2020 while looking for diamond earrings for his wife. Lab-grown diamonds offered an appealing alternative, but clear, useful buying information was difficult to find. He researched the stones and sellers, wrote the first articles and began buying and evaluating jewelry himself.
His wife later joined the work, contributing buying guides, product research and a shopper's perspective. Experienced freelance writers added knowledge of diamond retail, jewelry, fashion and bridal publishing. That combination remains central to the site: understand the diamond, but also the person buying it and the jewelry they want to wear.
We know that a diamond purchase can feel overwhelming. A grading report is only one part of the decision. The design, appearance, complete price, service and return terms matter too. Our guides work through those choices in plain language.

Editorial process
Our aim is to help you find a diamond you love at a sensible price. We research loose diamonds and finished jewelry, compare retailers and examine the buying experience from browsing through delivery and returns.
Our own purchases give us something concrete to assess: the jewelry received, its packaging, paperwork, appearance and fit. Price research and policy checks answer different questions, such as whether a seller offers good value and which purchases qualify for a return. We keep those types of evidence clear in the individual review.
Klaus directs current editorial work. Earlier contributors remain credited for the research and writing behind their articles, alongside the people responsible for substantive updates. Our editorial review process explains how we assess jewelers and use ratings.
