Join us as we evaluate Ritani and their products and services to help you make informed decisions when buying diamonds and diamond jewelry.
Summary of Our 2026 Ritani Review
Ritani once again earns our highest rating for its exceptionally low, transparent prices, a vast inventory of diamonds and jewelry, excellent craftsmanship and quality, a great shopping experience, and expert customer service.
Another feature that sets Ritani apart from its peers is its successful marriage of online and offline diamond shopping through its “Try Before Buy” service. This option combines the benefits of shopping online on their website with the option to send the jewelry to a “Ritani Diamond Pro” for a final product preview. If you like it, you can purchase it right there and then. If not, you can walk away without buying it. No strings attached.
Ritani also offers the largest selection of diamonds that we have found. They carry diamonds in all shapes and all the most popular fancy lab diamond colors. And if the choices are too overwhelming, Ritani will recommend which diamonds to pick. They even suggest better alternatives when they are lower-priced!
Our Bottom-Line Verdict of Ritani
In summary, we find that Ritani is one of the best places to buy lab-grown diamonds and one of the top places for lab-grown diamond engagement rings. That’s why our Ritani review rewards them with our maximum rating of 5 out of 5 stars. Ritani excels due to its unparalleled low prices, outstanding service, the ability to see your diamond before you buy, and a massive selection of lab-grown diamonds!

What do you think about Ritani?
What’s New at Ritani in 2026?
We’ve been reviewing Ritani annually since 2020, and a lot has changed since our previous reviews.
1. “Try Before You Buy” replaced in-store jeweler partnerships
Ritani no longer partners with local jewelers or WeWork locations. Instead, they now offer Free Preview with a Ritani Diamond Pro, where you can view your loose diamond and setting in person before making a decision.
2. Customer-service sentiment is more mixed
Ritani still has many excellent reviews and a strong overall reputation, but more recent feedback highlights slow communication and occasional shipping delays. This can be important for time-sensitive buyers. We have shopped at Ritani many times, and while delivery was not the fastest we have seen, we also did not experience any delays.
3. Lab-grown diamond prices have dropped further
Ritani remains one of the very cheapest retailers, often significantly below competitors like Brilliant Earth and Vrai. This is especially true for lab-grown diamonds and lab diamond jewelry.
4. Larger inventory than any competitor
Over 400,000 lab-grown and 250,000 mined diamonds are available, the largest selection of any jeweler we have reviewed over the years.
Background: What to Know About Ritani
Ritani isn’t a newcomer. Founded in 1999, the company began as a traditional jewelry brand known for its craftsmanship and classic designs before expanding into e-commerce in the early 2010s.
Over the past decade, the company has evolved from a traditional jewelry manufacturer into a modern, data-driven online diamond marketplace. This shift, combined with in-house production and strong supplier relationships, is one of the reasons why Ritani can consistently offer some of the lowest diamond prices in the industry. In fact, Forbes was so impressed by Ritani that they named them one of America’s Most Promising Companies, as reported by JCK and other diamond outlets.
Try Before You Buy: Ritani’s New In-Person Preview Experience
We’ll start our Ritani lab-grown diamond review by looking into “their collaboration with physical jewelers and “Try Before You Buy” service, and what that means for you as a diamond shopper.
From Clicks & Bricks to a Streamlined Preview Service
Since our last review, Ritani has retired its original “clicks and bricks” program. Previously, you could pick up, view, and inspect your ring at a local partner jewelry store or even at select WeWork locations. In addition to the benefits of picking up some free-flowing kombucha at your local WeWork along with your diamonds, this setup made a lot of sense: consumers could inspect the diamonds and your purchase while being able to ask questions (and, perhaps, borrow a loupe).
Introducing “Free Preview with a Diamond Pro” (2026)
Today, Ritani has replaced that model with a more structured Free Preview with a Diamond Pro service. At checkout, you can choose a free, no-obligation appointment where a Ritani Diamond Pro shows you your loose diamond up close and previews your engagement ring or jewelry in person.
It’s designed to bridge the convenience of online shopping with the confidence of an in-person inspection.
The Benefits of Try Before You Buy
You can decide then and there if you want to keep or return your diamond, without shipping delays or back-and-forth logistics. Of course, it does take away some of the convenience of shopping from your couch, but it’s a reasonable compromise. Ritani’s “Free Preview with a Diamond Pro” approach is popular with customers, and we have found it to work well during our review.
Exploring Ritani’s Efficient Factory and Supply Chains
To explain why Ritani can offer its incredibly low diamond prices, we must first understand how it is organized and operates.
Ritani is headquartered in White Plains, NY, close enough to the diamond district of NYC but with space to build its own factory. Through well-established (family) connections in the diamond world, Ritani can lower its supply chain costs and keep most of its jewelry production in-house (diamond cutting is usually handled overseas), all to the customer’s benefit through competitive pricing.

This also means that Ritani has greater control over the production process and product quality. And the quality of their products, including settings and craftsmanship, is indeed superior to most competitors’.
Additionally, this allows Ritani to offer one of the largest selections of diamonds we’ve seen. Let’s look at that next.
Ritani’s Diamond and Jewelry Selection
Ritani offers a huge inventory of loose diamonds, jewelry set with gemstones, including diamonds, and jewelry that you can customize by matching loose diamonds and jewelry settings. We’ll assess all three in the following.
Diamond Selection at Ritani
Ritani sells both mined and lab-grown diamonds, but features lab-created diamonds almost as prominently as its mined inventory. They also feature a learning section on lab-grown diamonds, which is informative and, unlike other places such as Zales or Kay, very honest and not trying to undermine lab diamonds, as the owners of Lightbox Jewelry do.
We would have liked Ritani to offer sustainably rated diamonds, as we saw in our Brilliant Earth review. However, lab-grown diamonds are already a much more environmentally friendly diamond choice than mined diamonds.
Some of Ritani’s offerings, such as their trade-in program, do not extend to lab-grown diamonds. Unfortunately, this is common in the diamond industry because the price of lab-created diamonds is not as well understood as that of mined diamonds (which fluctuate considerably). It’s a shame, but it doesn’t set Ritani apart from its competitors and shouldn’t be a cause for concern.
The Largest Selection of Loose Diamonds
Ritani offers one of the most extensive selections of diamonds available today. With a massive inventory of over 400,000 lab-grown diamonds and almost 250,000 mined diamonds, Ritani provides customers with a wide range of options to suit every style and budget. Prices for lab-grown diamonds start as low as $50, but you would want to go higher than that to ensure you get a sparkling and clear diamond (more on that in the following section). Still, a lab-grown diamond for $50 is pretty wild!

In all our lab diamond reviews, only GemsNY gets close to boasting such an extensive inventory of lab-grown diamonds. And with over 400,000 lab-grown diamonds to choose from, you can be sure to find a diamond that fits your needs!

Ritani’s Jewelry Selection
Most people don’t shop for loose diamonds but plan to set them in jewelry. That’s why we have also examined Ritani’s selection of diamond jewelry, settings, and customization options.
Wide Range of Jewelry Options
Ritani offers a wide selection of jewelry types, designs, metals, and price levels. While the selection may not be as unique as what you’ll find at Grown Brilliance, Vrai, or Kimaï, you’ll likely find something that fits your style at Ritani.
The quality of Ritani’s settings is good. They are produced in-house, so Ritani controls production quality.
You can choose either pre-set or ready-to-ship diamond jewelry, in which you don’t choose the exact diamonds used. We usually don’t recommend that, but Ritani, unlike most other diamond jewelers, employs premium diamonds in its pre-set jewelry. That said, we would still pick the stones from their selection of loose diamonds.
Ritani’s Jewelry Customization: A Seamless Experience
Customizing diamond jewelry at Ritani is straightforward, especially when shopping for diamond rings. Here’s a breakdown of our experience with their customization process.
We tested the customization options, in which you choose a diamond from their inventory of loose diamonds. The inventory, as noted above, is massive, and the prices, as we’ll examine later, are exceptional. So it was pretty easy to find an affordable, stunning diamond to go with the ring we used for our test purchase. If in doubt, consider the diamonds that Ritani suggests. We have found that they are often very good. In fact, we opted for one of their recommended alternatives during our test purchase, and it didn’t disappoint.
Seamless Process and Quick Delivery Time
The process is seamless and very easy to do. Selecting a ring is straightforward, and you are guided through the process. At the end, you can see the final product and check out. That is when you can decide to have it shipped to your address or to one of their participating click-and-brick retailers. We had it shipped to our company address, but we had previously tested the try-before-you-buy in-store preview, and it worked really well.
To our surprise, the diamond ring arrived after just four days! In our case, the diamond was in their inventory, but in some cases, it can take longer because they source diamonds from vendors (that’s what most diamond jewelers do).

How to Customize Diamond Jewelry at Ritani
You can also customize diamond earrings and pendants, and the process is just as easy. However, the designs are limited. As a test, we previously customized a pair of diamond bezel stud earrings that were not available for customization. However, we wanted to pick our own diamonds, so we contacted customer support (via chat).
The very friendly customer representative was eager to help us and suggested several options using our criteria, but you can also find specific diamonds you want to use. It’s almost as easy as creating them online, but we do wish they would expand the number of jewelry designs available for online customization.
But what about Ritani’s prices? We’ve already explained how their lean and direct model allows them to sell diamonds much cheaper. Unlike Diamonds Direct, Ritani passes the savings on to the consumer. Next, we’ll examine their lab diamond prices closely.
Decoding Ritani’s Diamond Prices
As we have already alluded to, Ritani offers the best prices for high-quality lab-grown diamonds of any jeweler we have come across.
As you can read in our comparison of 1-carat lab diamond prices (and 2-carat, 3-carat, 4-carat, 5-carat, and 6-carat lab diamonds), Ritani offers the lowest diamond prices in almost all instances.
For example, prices for 1-carat lab diamonds with good grades start at $300! Round brilliant lab-created diamonds with premium grades and quality can be found for as little as $500.
Why Are Ritani’s Diamonds So Cheap?
Why are these diamonds so cheap? And as you may know, lab-grown diamond prices are already 60-80% lower than mined diamonds (of the same quality and size). So not only are you saving a ton compared to mined diamonds, but you can save even more if you shop at Ritani. Or, if your budget is set, you can significantly increase the size and quality of the diamond you’re buying when you shop lab-grown diamonds at Ritani.
Prices for diamond jewelry at Ritani are also very low. One of the rings that we bought, including the diamond, cost less than $1000 for a 1.15-carat lab-grown diamond.

Lowest Prices with Full Transparency
Ritani not only offers some of the lowest prices in the industry, but also stands out for its pricing transparency. They break down the diamond’s cost, from the gross purchase price to the margin on each stone, so you know exactly what you’re paying for. This level of transparency is rare among diamond jewelers. Suffice it to say, you can be confident that you know what you’re paying for at Ritani!
Their low prices are even more impressive because Ritani has a semi-offline shopping setup.

Ritani’s vs. Competitors
Compared with any offline jewelers, such as mall jewelers like Helzberg, Jared Jewelry, or Zales, Ritani’s prices are far better than you’ll find at a traditional jeweler and among the lowest you’ll find online (even if you can’t see your diamond in a physical store).

The Ritani Lab-Grown Diamond Buying Experience
Like James Allen and Brilliant Earth, Ritani sells mined and lab-created diamonds. While Ritani does not specialize in lab-grown diamonds, it offers the largest and lowest-priced selection.
As noted, the buying experience is incredibly transparent and informative. Ritani not only suggests better diamonds but also often offers lower-priced alternatives! They even tell you the profit they are making, as we’ll note later.
The lab-grown diamond inspection features fall slightly short of what James Allen offers, but are similar to those at our other top-rated diamond sellers, such as Brilliant Earth.
Ritani makes the buying process extremely easy. They go to great lengths to make the process less daunting and more accessible, and to make information easy to digest. As a result, the buying experience is especially well-suited for a first-time buyer or someone who is unable (or unwilling) to invest too much time in the purchase (you should).

How Ritani Helps You Evaluate Diamonds Before Buying
Ritani also offers a Comprehensive Diamond Report for many of its stones. This easy-to-read summary highlights key details about cut, proportions, and overall light performance. It’s helpful and makes it easier for buyers to understand the diamonds’ characteristics.

Our diamond report was a two-page, easy-to-read overview of the diamond we were considering.
Tips for Finding the Best Diamonds at Ritani
As seen earlier, the lab-grown diamond characteristics (the diamond’s 4Cs Cut, Color, Clarity, Carat Weight) are explained in a very approachable manner, which other diamond sellers could learn a lot from. Therefore, everyone should be able to make a relatively informed decision based on the above.
However, the ease of the buying process can be deceiving. As you will have learned from our lab-grown diamond educational articles, buying the perfect diamond requires more legwork.
It can be daunting, but buying a diamond, even if lab-grown, is a significant investment. But don’t despair. Our lab-grown diamond buying guide walks you through the process and makes it easy.
Expert Guidance for the Time-Strapped Buyer
Even if you cannot invest time in learning the ins and outs of diamonds, you can still find the perfect diamond if you shop at Ritani (or any of our recommended lab-grown diamond jewelers). As we’ll get into later in our review of Ritani, they offer objective and professional guidance focused on finding you the perfect diamond.
The customer service at Ritani is fantastic and very friendly. It’s clear that Ritani cares about its customers. Even after you have made your purchase through their excellent post-purchase services. These include free diamond tightening, ring cleaning, and annual precious metal preservation!
Transparent Buying and Price Comparison
We have mentioned it a few times, but Ritani’s pricing is incredibly transparent. Ritani features a transparent diamond price tool that shows you the wholesale diamond cost, operational expenses (shipping, packaging, and processing), and even the profit made by Ritani. That’s price transparency on a whole other level!

And it doesn’t stop there. Ritani also compares the diamond you browse with a vast database of other diamonds to find better alternatives. We found that their suggestions were accurate and valuable almost every time, and their recommendations will undoubtedly benefit any first-time diamond buyer (and even diamond pros).

We’re pretty excited about these diamond shopping features, which make buying more accessible, safer, and more enjoyable. And faster, too. Generally speaking, you should still invest time in the purchase process to educate yourself and ensure you end up with just the right diamond.
The Ritani process is almost deceivingly easy, but you must dedicate enough time to assess any diamond purchase critically (it’s a significant investment, even with lab-grown diamonds). Luckily, Ritani offers help if you are not yet a diamond expert, which we’ll look at in the next section of our Ritani lab-grown diamond review.
Live-Chatting With Trained Gemologists
Ritani, like competitors such as James Allen and Grown Brilliance, will help you find the perfect diamond. The best way to do that is to chat with their team of trained gemologists.
Though not quite as advanced as what we found in our James Allen review, the live chat option (together with excellent phone and email support) works well. You can chat with trained gemologists who are focused on your needs beyond the price of the diamond.
In our experience, that actually holds true. The experience is as good as we saw in our Clean Origin review and the James above Allen and Brilliant Earth, and miles and miles ahead of the lackluster support that LightBox Jewelry offers through Facebook Messenger.
Of course, this is in addition to seeing the diamonds in person at any participating jewelers. However, you want to ensure that the diamonds you see in person are the best possible choice.
That’s why you must be able to evaluate the diamonds online before you make any commitment. We’ll examine that feature next in our evaluation of Ritani.
Diamond Inspection at Ritani
Ritani’s research and inspection features are on par with competing jewelers With Clarity and Brilliant Earth, among the best places to buy lab-grown diamonds online. However, as we found in our comparison of James Allen vs. Ritani, only James Allen is slightly ahead of Ritani regarding diamond inspection.
Ritani offers 360-degree HD videos for almost all of its lab-grown diamonds. However, some of their smaller diamonds lack these. For these, you’ll have to contend with low-resolution images, as in the example below.

We think Ritani could do better here. HD video and images should be standard for all diamonds, so you can perform your own inspection, not just for some.

Ritani offers to create HD images for your inspection as part of the gemologist’s support. But there is a 48-hour turnaround time, and they will only be made for the specific diamonds you’re interested in (they should be readily available for the entire catalog).
Diamond Certification and Grading
Ritani does provide the grading report, and it’s readily available for download on their website (good). This is more than many other lab-grown sellers offer. Their mined diamonds are graded by GIA and AGSL, and most lab-grown diamonds by IGI, the leading lab diamond grading institute.
All graded diamonds come with a certificate, as they should. This is what we received during one of our test buys at Ritani.

Shipping and Packaging at Ritani
Ritani offers complimentary FedEx overnight shipping on every order and free return shipping (currently US only). Orders are shipped securely after a 3-14 day production time, and they offer discreet, flexible delivery to avoid arousing suspicion (of an impending proposal, for example). This is comparable to another of our lab diamond jewelers, James Allen.
Shipping is fully insured, and a signature is required upon delivery (so if delivered somewhere else, make sure it can be signed off). So you do not have to worry about shipping or your expensive order getting lost.
The packaging quality is excellent, and the jewelry arrives in a protective box, with the jewelry box wrapped in film, and the diamond certificate and all information in a separate compartment. It’s very elegant and simple, though some may prefer more bling.

The ring box is placed in a second box to keep it safe, as shown above, and it’s a great solution. With both James Allen and Vrai, we have experienced damaged boxes!

Ritani’s Return Policy
Ritani offers risk-free 30-day returns and free exchanges. The process is straightforward, and they’ll guide you through it, send you a return label, and even arrange a pickup if you can’t be bothered to go to the local FedEx office. Returns are also overnighted and fully insured.
Post-Purchase Services at Ritani
Ritani excels in its post-purchase experience, which in the eternal lifespan of a diamond is pretty essential.
They even offer the following services free of charge to any diamond customer:
- Free center or side stone tightening
- One free ring resizing within the first year of purchase (US only)
- Annual complimentary ring cleanings for life
- Complimentary rhodium plating once a year
You only have to pay for shipping! That’s a pretty good deal and will extend the life and quality of your diamond purchase. This level of service puts them at the top of the current diamond seller offerings, and we’re very impressed. In full transparency, we have not yet availed ourselves of the services, but look forward to our annual rhodium (re)plating.

Other Ritani Reviews
There are several Ritani Reviews on platforms such as Trustpilot, Reddit, Facebook, and Google. There are few Yelp reviews because Ritani does not have any stores.
Ritani’s customers are overwhelmingly positive, matching those of James Allen and Brilliant Earth. They’re pretty impressive and well-aligned with our Ritani review score. Most negative reviews focus on the return period, which we have also mentioned, and on the unavailability of diamonds.
In a few cases, customers experience diamonds becoming unavailable because online sellers usually work with diamond wholesalers and importers. This happens at Ritani as well as at almost any other online diamond jeweler.
In rare instances, the diamond you have picked could have been bought by someone else if the wholesaler didn’t update their inventory list (as they should). This, unfortunately, is the cost of getting access to low-priced diamonds.
Ritani Reviews on Reddit
Most users on Reddit have a favorable view of Ritani and confirm our view that Ritani is a very reputable jeweler. Again, they highlight the low prices and recommend Ritani for its affordable yet outstanding diamonds and excellent jewelry quality. Most negative views center around the same issue as on Trustpilot. That is, diamonds that are unavailable due to outdated inventory lists.

Ritani Reviews on Trustpilot
Trustpilot’s Ritani reviews are generally positive, with many customers praising its low prices, high-quality diamonds and jewelry, and customer service. The negative feedback is mostly related to diamonds that turn out to be out of stock.
A few reviewers on Trustpilot have also raised concerns about the quality of their ring settings. While most customers praise Ritani’s craftsmanship, some report that prongs or mountings felt slightly uneven or required tightening upon arrival. To Ritani’s credit, these issues appear to be rare and are often resolved through their free post-purchase services.
Does Ritani Do “Bait and Switch”? Here’s What’s Really Happening
A common complaint on Reddit and other forums is that Ritani sometimes lists diamonds that are unavailable. Some shoppers interpret this as “bait and switch,” but based on our multi-year testing and industry experience, this isn’t actually what’s happening.
Ritani, like most large online diamond retailers, uses a real-time inventory system that pulls diamonds from multiple wholesalers. Because these diamonds are sold across several platforms at once, a diamond can be purchased by someone else before Ritani’s system updates. When that happens, the diamond becomes unavailable after you click on it.
This isn’t intentional, and it isn’t unique to Ritani. It’s simply a limitation of how the online diamond marketplace works across the industry.
Ritani vs. Competing Brands
Ritani is one of our highest-rated lab diamond jewelers, and with good reason. But Ritani is not the only jeweler selling lab-grown diamonds. That’s why we always recommend you shop around and compare prices, quality, selection, and customer service. To help you compare, we have written several expert reviews that pit Ritani against its competitors.
In our opinion, Ritani is better than almost any competitor when it comes to lab diamond prices. See, for example, our list of prices for 1-carat lab diamonds, where Ritani consistently is the cheapest. Ritani also excels in customization options, shopping experience, diamond quality, and, not least, selection, which is one of the largest available.
Pros and Cons of Ritani
Throughout our Ritani review, we have listed the benefits of shopping for lab-grown diamonds at Ritani, as well as a few drawbacks. Here are all the pros and cons of Ritani lab-grown diamonds summed up.
Pros
- The lowest lab-grown diamond prices
- Huge inventory of lab-grown diamonds
- Extremely transparent prices
- Pre-set and ready-to-ship jewelry with set with ideal cut diamonds
- Awesome customer support and service
Cons
- The shopping experience is not as feature-rich as at James Allen
- Building your own may require contacting customer service
- Fewer unique designs than Grown Brilliance, Vrai, etc. offer.
Our Final Ritani Review Conclusion
Throughout our review of Ritani and their lab-grown diamonds, we have found that they exceeded our expectations. Based on our overall experience with Ritani, we thoroughly recommend buying diamonds and diamond jewelry at Ritani.
We have found that their excellent customer service, radical and unparalleled pricing transparency, an easy buying experience, and diamond recommendations propel them to the top of the diamond jewelers.
Most importantly, our in-depth diamond price and quality analysis shows that Ritani has the lowest prices in 2026, including its exceptionally affordable lab-grown diamonds!
Finally, they get points for the option to preview your chosen diamonds at a physical location (but make sure you’ve done your homework).
So it’s no surprise we award Ritani 5 very impressive and shining stars out of 5 possible. The only minor drawbacks we have found are fewer advanced features than James Allen and fewer online customization options, especially for diamond rings, compared to Grown Brilliance.
Our Editorial Review Process

We do not accept payment for editorial content and decline most requests for partnerships and paid content proposals. We only collaborate with a select few lab diamond jewelers that we wholeheartedly endorse.
Our stringent review process adheres to strict guidelines and evaluates all lab diamond jewelers under the same rigorous criteria. As a result, all of our reviews cover critical aspects, even those of the highest-rated jewelers. We recommend several lab diamond jewelers, but each for specific reasons. In our expert reviews and when suggesting the best places to buy lab-grown diamonds, we explain why we suggest a particular jeweler and what you should think about before making a purchase. This way, you can find the lab-grown diamond jeweler that is right for you. But make sure to shop around and compare lab diamond prices.
Our Ritani Review Process
As diamond experts, we have tested all aspects of shopping at Ritani, so you know what to watch for and how to find the best diamond. Our assessment of Ritani focuses particularly on lab-grown diamonds but also extends to their mined diamond selection. However, we recommend lab diamonds over mined diamonds due to their lower prices, ethical sourcing, and a more environmentally friendly profile.
Our team of experts in lab diamonds has spent weeks conducting a thorough analysis and study of Ritani, including its diamonds and jewelry. We compared Ritani with its competitors and evaluated their pros and cons against diamond industry standards.
