In this comparison
I would start at Whiteflash if I already wanted a round and my biggest question was how one diamond would look next to another. I would start at With Clarity if I wanted to try two settings at home before committing to the design. It is easy to spend hours on grades and then discover you care more about the way the ring sits on your hand.
We looked at two Whiteflash Precision Lab rounds online and priced a solitaire from the listed components. At With Clarity we tried two Home Preview replicas and separately bought a finished hidden-halo ring. The replicas helped us decide what we liked on the hand. Whiteflash’s images let us look much more closely at the individual round diamond before placing an order.

What I would look at on Whiteflash
The two Precision Lab rounds I checked faced up at almost the same diameter. One was 1.05 carats and D/VVS2 at $950. The other was 1.03 carats and D/Flawless at $1,470. I would begin with the $950 stone. The dimensions were close enough that I would want to see something in the video or cut images that mattered to me before spending the difference. Those are two specific stones, so the gap tells us little about what clarity alone costs.

Look at the video first, then use the optical views to compare what you saw. Ideal-Scope can help show areas of light leakage. ASET maps the angles from which a diamond gathers light and the areas of contrast. If you are choosing between two rounds, ask the jeweler to explain the differences using both stones’ images. Check the listing for the exact stone you want. Our examples were branded rounds, and image coverage can differ for other stones. Whiteflash Precision Lab · GIA’s explanation of ASET
What we learned from the With Clarity try-on
With two replicas at home we could go back and forth between the designs, look at them in ordinary light and see how the bands felt between our fingers. Try the sample alongside the wedding band you plan to wear. Take a side photo too. It is easier to notice differences in setting height when you compare two rings from the same angle.

The replicas are for judging the design. You choose the real diamond separately, and I would confirm the finished profile and clearance with the jeweler if you choose a different center size or shape. We bought a 1.11-carat round in a 14K yellow-gold Chevron Hidden Halo. The halo was even, the prongs looked neat and the finish impressed us. Our order arrived in 11 days. Ask for a date for your own build, especially if you are trying samples first. Our Home Preview test
Compare the full ring prices
| Whiteflash example, November 7, 2026 | Listed price |
|---|---|
| 1.05 ct D/VVS2 Precision Lab round | $950 |
| 14K white-gold Valoria six-prong solitaire | $750 |
| Sum of the two listings before tax | $1,700 |
I did not take those two Whiteflash components through checkout. Get an assembled quote that confirms the setting fits the stone and uses the payment method you plan to use. The With Clarity ring we bought was a yellow-gold hidden halo, so its purchase tells us about finish and fit. For a fair price check, get a quote for the same type of ring at both stores. Compare similarly sized rounds and check their reports, video and proportions alongside the price.
With Clarity’s Home Preview terms list a $200 payment per replica and gift credit after a qualifying return. Check the terms shown on your order before paying. If you try a replica for $200 and use the full credit on a $1,700 ring, the combined spend before tax is still $1,700. If you decide to buy somewhere else, that payment has a different value to you. I would use the preview once I had designs I could imagine ordering from With Clarity. With Clarity’s Home Preview terms
Returns, resizing and timing
Whiteflash publishes a 10-day guarantee for lab-grown diamonds and regular catalogue jewelry made with them. Check when the inspection window starts and whether any special-order work changes your terms. I would arrange an independent inspection before ordering if I planned to get one. Whiteflash’s guarantee
With Clarity’s replica preview has a separate seven-day window. For a finished ring, check the return deadline on the order and ask how they handle gift credit if you return the ring. Its US policy also lists a shipping fee for eligible resizing and separate conditions on repeat orders. Ask what applies before sending in a ring for adjustment. With Clarity’s order policies
Which jeweler would I choose?
For a round solitaire where I already knew the band style, I would price a Whiteflash round first and ask to see it next to one other stone. If I was torn between two bands or kept changing my mind about a hidden halo, I would start with the With Clarity replicas. I would choose the actual diamond after settling the design and leave enough time to check the fit when the real ring arrived.
Frequently asked questions
Are With Clarity’s preview diamonds real?
The Home Preview rings are replicas. Use them to assess the design and select the actual diamond separately. Ask for the real diamond’s video, report and measurements before ordering the finished ring.
Does every Whiteflash lab-grown diamond have optical images?
Check the listing. We saw actual-stone optical images for the branded Precision Lab rounds we examined. Ask what Whiteflash can supply for another collection, a fancy shape or a supplier-sourced stone.
Which is cheaper for a lab-grown engagement ring?
Compare current assembled quotes for similar stones, settings and metals. Include tax, any sizing or setting work and the value of a preview credit you would actually use. Our examples were different designs.
How we compared the two
We used the November 7, 2026 Whiteflash listing and setting research, our With Clarity replica trial and finished-ring purchase, and the retailers’ published US terms. We inspected the With Clarity ring in person. The Whiteflash comparison is based on what we could see online and the prices listed at the time.
